Bio
Thomas Friebel is a seasoned investment banker with over 30 years of experience driving energy transition, impact investment, and sustainable infrastructure development across the Americas, Europe and emerging markets. At ACP, he focuses on waste-to-value, industrial decarbonization, and sustainable impact investments, leveraging his deep expertise in structured finance to accelerate the shift toward a low-carbon economy.
Prior to ACP, he led the development of Whitehall & Company’s emerging markets platform, spearheading investments in energy transition projects. Previously, he headed the Debt Syndicate at Haitong International, following its acquisition of Espírito Santo’s investment banking division.

The bulk of his career was spent at WestLB New York, where he pioneered structured finance solutions in Latin America across energy, infrastructure, oil & gas, mining, and commodities. His leadership facilitated multi-billion-dollar impact investments and award-winning transactions, solidifying
WestLB as a premier force in sustainable infrastructure finance.
