More than 20 years ago, Dr. Barrera started his career at the Human Genome Sequencing Center at Baylor College of Medicine. After completing his medical training and fellowship in genetics, he continued his work in medical research, and began consulting for various pharmaceutical developments in early/late phases for FDA approval. During this process, he started his own research company, CliniCore International ("CliniCore"), and has successfully deployed 16 clinical study trials, valued more than $50 million. CliniCore has been active in medical and pharmaceutical research in United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Panama, Colombia and Brazil. This experience brought him alongside entrepreneurs, investors and other stakeholders all collaborating towards a common goal. As a healthcare advisor, Dr. Barrera has advised numerous biotechnology clients and medical groups on business and market developments and financial transactions. 

Dr. Barrera completed his medical training at UDEM School of Health, and his fellowship at UANL School of Medicine. He holds an MBA from Cameron School of Business at University of St. Thomas, and a BS from Baylor University. He holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses with FINRA.
